Stable - CHO Host Cell Lines

The biopharmaceutical industry has benefited enormously from the ability to make complex proteins of therapeutic value in cultured animal cells. These proteins can be authentically synthesized using large-scale bioprocesses.

Many of the therapeutic proteins can only be produced in a more or less authentic fashion by mammalian cells. Mammalian cells are used as protein factories as they provide the right environment and cellular machinery for correct processing of proteins for therapeutic use.

Chinese Hamster Ovary (CHO) cells are the workhorse of the Biopharmaceutical industry.  At ACYTE Biotech we have developed a range of in-house CHO cells lines to meed the rigorous demands of modern cell line and bioprocess development.

Our validated and fully documented CHO cells are sourced from an early passage of ATCC cell line CCL61.  

Our proprietary suspension adapted cell line- XL99, is ideal for stable cell line development, showing robust and high cell density growth from shake flask to large-scale bioreactors on a range of chemically defined media formats.  XL99 can also be adapted to your custom media requirements. This cell line exhibits an exceptional metabolic profile and growth characteristics in single use WAVE-type and stirred tank bioreactor systems alike.

We also offer access to our proprietory Super-CHO cell line. Super-CHO - is capable of autocrine growth under fully defined protein-free conditions, allowing greater flexibility in your Bioprocess media development.
